Hello, and welcome to my home! I want to first invite you into my living room. This is probably one of my favorite areas in the house because it is a great place to unwind after a long day.
The living room should feel extra cozy since it is a place for relaxing. When we first moved into our house 12 years ago, I had no idea what I was doing as far as interior design. My husband suggested we paint two of our living room walls red. I’m not talking a nice burgundy or anything like that. I’m talking about bright cherry red! I was all for it too! I figured I could do some sort of Asian theme. I never did anything like that so I was just left with two empty red walls. Years later, I figured the house needed some sort of theme. I was flipping through pages of a catalog at work one day and discovered the primitive country look. I instantly fell in love with it! I thought a nice burlap color would look good on the walls so my husband repainted the living room and also added some chair rail. The walls are actually two-toned. We originally had white couches, but that didn’t go well with children and dogs. We went with brown when it was time to replace the couches. Here is my living room now:
You can’t tell from the picture, but there is actually a miniature dachshund under the blanket to the right! I didn’t go with a traditional coffee table because my little one likes to use the couch to practice her gymnastics! I figured this ottoman was a little safer for her. Here are a few things I set out for a winter theme:
This little wire basket contains some items I had out for Christmas. Here is where you can find a similar wire basket. I didn’t change it because I thought it made a nice winter display for my ottoman.
This is what my end table looks like:
I found this adorable little bird lamp and fell in love it with right away! The burlap flowers match really well and go with about anything! I also love this end table because I have a place underneath to decorate as well!
I hope you have a great day!
