My little lady loves to go with me to the local farmer’s market on Saturdays. We thought it’d be fun to create a mini farmer’s market in our home. She has her own kitchen, which she plays with a lot, but she’s quickly outgrowing it. Her play kitchen is next to mine, but there’s not much room in that area. So I found this empty spot.
First, we needed a stand. My husband built this cabinet for me. We’ve been using it as extra shelving in our daughter’s closet. It’s too pretty to be stashed away and perfect to use as a stand for her market!
Time to decorate! I wanted the same style as the rest of our house. We started with a tin flower can and a real scale. Then I added some baskets and a small burlap shopping bag.
She had extra play food in her kitchen. So we placed them inside the baskets. I painted the inside of a milk bottle white. It always looks full! We also made sure to include her cash register.
The top shelf needed some final touches. Here’s what I came up with.
It goes so well with my home’s country theme. Here’s a view of the finished project:
She absolutely loves her new mini farmer’s market! We’re so happy with the final result. Even our youngest dachshund, Leilani, likes to stop in every now and then!
I had most of the items. The only things I bought were the tin can, flowers, and baskets from the local craft store and the scale from Target.
This is a great project you can create with your little one at home too. As a bonus, it’s also a great way to organize extra toys!
Have a great week!
