Good morning, friends! Over the weekend, I walked into my little lady’s room and discovered that her craft area needed improvement. I decided to make her craft area my next project.
As you can see, her table is very messy. It is also covering her music station so she doesn’t even have room to play her piano. My husband built the table and benches. He actually encouraged her to draw all over the table. It was time for a change. I love the little benches, but the table needed to be painted.
Here is a picture of the lovely benches my husband built:
I had some leftover chalk paint so decided to start painting! It took a few coats to cover all of the artwork, but I wasn’t looking for perfection.
While the paint was drying, I drove over to Hobby Lobby to look around for some extra things to add to her table. They had so many things to choose from! I spotted this beautiful print that was only $15! It makes a great replacement to her horse poster.
There is just something about that pink door!
Next, I needed a container to place her coloring tools. It had to match the shabby chic theme. They had a section of vintage-looking pieces so here is what I found. This piece actually spins around and has three slots. I placed colored pencils, crayons, and markers into each little container.
I kept her old pink craft caddy so she can use it to tote around in case she wants to color someplace else.
This area was so simple to put together and I didn’t even need to spend a lot of money on it. She really likes it too!
I have more project ideas for her room. You can visit my previous post, sweet little girl’s room to see a few details to her bedroom.
I hope you enjoyed this simple little project. Feel free to leave a comment to let me know what you think!
