Good morning! Today, I am going to share with you how I decorated an old step ladder for spring. I’ve had this idea to decorate a ladder for my entryway for a while, but I had trouble finding one I liked. It couldn’t be brand new. I searched for a few weeks until I found the perfect one at an antique shop for only $15! You know I had to snatch it up quick!
The fun part of decorating begins! I knew I wanted a lot of flowers since it is springtime. I visited a local nursery for a plant and some succulents. It still needed more.
I purchased some fresh flowers and the cute little mason jar bouquet from a grocery store. My tin watering can filled with faux hydrangeas look great next to it. I also included a little door in the display.
I actually had the little barn star door for a long time. It was one of those purchases I made because I thought it was the cutest thing! There was just no home for it until now! I think I found it at a Joann fabric and craft store.
On the other side of my entryway, I have my lantern wreath holder. For spring, I placed a little green wreath on it. On the bottom, I have a cute little birdie sitting on a nest.
While at Hobby Lobby shopping for my little lady, I spotted the perfect doormat!
This doormat has such a cute farmhouse look to it. It’s perfect for me because home is my favorite place and that is basically what this mat is saying.
If you are also looking to decorate an old step ladder, I encourage you to rummage through thrift or antique stores. You might even be lucky enough to find one at a garage sale.
If your home doesn’t have an entryway, you can place the ladder in the area you use as a foyer. Or maybe you have an empty corner you want to brighten up. This is a project you can really get creative with!
I also think some old birdhouses would look good on the ladder, don’t you?
Have fun decorating!
