Good morning! Wow, it feels like forever since I wrote a post! Summer is officially here so that means a relaxed pace, lots of time at the beach, and more time with family. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far. I don’t know about you, but I feel like I have a never-ending list of projects to do!
One of my projects was to refresh my living room. The living room before felt so empty to me. I quickly realized it was because my sectional is huge and it lacked throw pillows. Yes, throw pillows! They can make any couch look cozy and inviting.
My next challenge was to figure out how many to get. I went with the rule of threes. Three different sized pillows in each corner of the sectional. Oh, and one more extra because throw pillows are now my new obsession!
My curtains also needed an update. It was hard to let my previous curtains go because I did like the primitive look to them. However, they were dark-colored and I wanted something lighter since my couch is brown. After a lot of searching, I decided on a French ticking pattern.
My little ottoman vignette didn’t change much at all. I just switched out the candle for this cute vintage-looking chicken pull toy.
My little dogs spend a lot of time on the couch. I was a little hesitant in adding all of the pillows because I was afraid they would just get hair all over them. I’m glad that didn’t stop me because I really like how the living room turned out!
So back to that never-ending list of projects to do. Instead of focusing on getting everything done at once, take advantage of this relaxed summer pace and live one day at a time. I know I sometimes have a hard time doing that because it feels like everything has to be done immediately. I quickly realize that is not possible and it also would not be much fun.
